Whether UX, Product, or C-Suite, I have played many roles in research, design, and strategy – all crucial for crafting user experiences that resonate and engage.

Welcome to the heart of my design journey...

Over the past decade and beyond, I have been an UX Evangelist of sorts. It's not just a process but a testament to adaptive innovation and a commitment to excellence. Each version of my methodology, while unique, shares a common thread: adherence to best practices and a pioneering spirit in setting new design standards.

My First Experience at Bluewolf

My first experience at Bluewolf was truly unique and involved a significant amount of work. As a Director, I had the responsibility of not only teaching our clients but also the internal team at this consulting agency. This started with a methodology I designed that I would continually have to change as I adapted to each unique situation that I encountered as a way to create some sort of visual that allowed anyone to see "behind-the-scenes" of the UX process. Below was the first official methodology I researched, created and implemented.

Version 1 of a UX Methodology created initially for Bluewolf (an IBM Company) from 2011

My Approach to UX

When it comes to user experience (UX), my approach is rooted in a deep understanding of both user needs and business goals. I firmly believe that every design decision should serve a clear purpose and have a meaningful impact. To achieve this, I follow a comprehensive methodology that spans the entire design process, from initial research to final implementation.

This methodology is built upon a combination of analytical rigor and creative exploration. By blending these two approaches, I am able to create designs that not only meet user needs but also incorporate the latest trends and technologies. I constantly adapt and evolve my designs to ensure they remain intuitive, inclusive, and visually compelling.

To begin, I start by conducting thorough research to gain insights into the target audience and their specific needs. This involves gathering both qualitative and quantitative data, such as conducting user interviews, analyzing user behavior, and studying market trends. By immersing myself in this research, I am able to uncover valuable insights that inform the design decisions I make.

Once I have a solid understanding of the user needs, I move on to the ideation phase. This is where I let my creativity flourish and explore a wide range of design possibilities. I brainstorm ideas, sketch out wireframes, and create prototypes to test different concepts. This iterative process allows me to refine and improve my designs based on user feedback and usability testing.

After the ideation phase, I transition into the design execution stage. Here, I bring my ideas to life by creating high-fidelity mockups and interactive prototypes. I pay close attention to the visual aesthetics, ensuring that the design is visually appealing and aligns with the brand's identity. At the same time, I prioritize usability and accessibility, making sure that the design is intuitive and inclusive for all users.

Throughout the entire design process, I collaborate closely with stakeholders, including product managers, developers, and other designers. This collaborative approach ensures that everyone is aligned and working towards a common goal. It also allows for valuable feedback and insights from different perspectives, which ultimately leads to better design outcomes.

Version 2 created for Bluewolf after a rebranding and then I used for other companies in 2013 - Still revelant today

Why is this important? Because in the ever-changing digital landscape, a robust and flexible UX Methodology isn't just beneficial – it's essential. It's the foundation upon which user-centric, innovative solutions are built. It's about creating digital experiences that not only meet users' needs but also exceed their expectations, fostering engagement and driving success.

An updated UX Methodology that I still felt needed reworking

My portfolio is more than just a showcase of my work; it's a narrative of my journey in shaping experiences that connect, inspire, and transform.
